The Newsroom Crew
Every blog is a project of some kind. Ours is fairly simple to describe: build a small, tidy library of answers to the everyday tech and hobby questions that keep popping up in group chats, family dinners and late-night searches. One article at a time, one question at a time.
Why it started
Most of us have been the unofficial help desk for someone. The parent whose phone storage is full again. The friend who wants to start a channel. The colleague drowning in unread email. Explaining the same fixes over and over gets old, so the idea was to write them down properly once, in a voice that sounds like a helpful friend rather than a user manual, and share the link next time.
Hobbies crept in for a good reason. The best antidote to a noisy screen is often a pair of knitting needles, a notebook or a match with friends, and those deserve the same clear, encouraging walk-throughs.
What the project is building
- Quick fixes you can finish before the kettle boils, like silencing a chatty app.
- Proper routines that need one afternoon to set up and then run by themselves, like photo backups.
- Starter guides for new hobbies, written for people who have never tried them.
- Bigger-picture stories about where technology, money and online culture are heading.
The aim is a library where each article links to the next useful one, so a single question can turn into a tidier phone, a safer photo collection and a new evening pastime.
Three people, three pen names
Newsdump is written by a tiny team who publish under first names only. Bexley handles phones and settings, Dashiell keeps an eye on social media and online video, and Juniper looks after hobbies and the slower side of life. Nobody here claims a title or a certificate; what we offer is curiosity, patience with menus and a habit of double-checking every step before it goes live.
How the work gets done
- Someone brings a question from real life.
- We work through the steps on our own devices or with our own needles and notebooks.
- Another team member reads the draft and asks "but what if…?" until the gaps are filled.
- The article goes up, and we revisit it when apps or menus change.

On the masthead
Three pen names, one shared inbox
First names only, no job titles. Just the beats each of us keeps an eye on.
Bexley
Phones and settings
Digs through menus so you do not have to, from storage bars to focus schedules, and tests every step twice.
Dashiell
Social media and video
Watches how channels and feeds change, and sticks firmly to growth tactics that real audiences can see through.
Juniper
Hobbies and slow time
Writes about yarn, notebooks and match nights, and owns more half-finished scarves than she will admit.
