5 reasons why you should buy a PVC tarpaulin

If you are a homeowner or a vehicle owner, it may not have occurred to you that buying several PVC tarpaulins, or as the germans like to call it “Abdeckplane“, could be a smart decision.

This is especially true if you are not aware of the many things you can do with a tarpaulin, or understand how helpful they can be around the house or for anyone that owns a car or truck.

Truck and car covers — You can construct an extremely strong truck or car cover with a PVC tarpaulin. As these tarpaulins come in hundreds of different colors, you can also create one that matches your vehicle perfectly.

A typical PVC tarpaulin is durable and waterproof. That means it will protect your vehicle from both the sun and the rain. It is also an inexpensive alternative to a fitted car cover that will often cost hundreds of dollars more.

Heck, tarpaulins are also awesome for campers that want to protect their car during the campout, e.g.

Tents made from PVC tarpaulins — If you are organizing a special event and need a large tent in the grounds of your event venue, you can actually construct one yourself using a few strong sheets of PVC tarpaulin.

These types of tents can be extremely effective when you consider they also tend to be tear-resistant.

This tarpaulin is also treated with an anti-UV treatment so will protect you and your guests from harmful sun rays.

Awnings — Another good reason for buying PVC tarpaulin is that you can create a waterproof awning out of a typical tarpaulin.

These awnings can be used to create a temporary roof that can shade guests seated at an outdoor wedding or other event. This immediately makes the area where the event is staged both sun and rain proof and all for just the cost of two or three PVC tarpaulins and a few stakes to anchor them in place.

Pond liners — If you would like to create a pond on your property, this can easily be achieved with a strong PVC tarpaulin.

You just need to dig a hole that is the size and shape of the desired pool and then line it with PVC tarpaulin. The tarpaulin can then be weighted down or secured with wooden stakes and the water for the pond can then be poured into it via a hosepipe.

As a typical tarpaulin is extremely durable, as long as you do not live in a climate that is very cold, the pool is likely to stay leak-free for several years.

Protecting carpet and hardwood floors — If you plan on painting your home or doing another home renovation that could damage your carpet or hardwood floors, laying a PVC tarpaulin before starting will protect your floors from all kinds of damage.
