Which project management software is right for you?

When looking for a project management software there are a few things you should be looking for. You should research the product and check its features against what you are looking for in a product that is going to benefit your team the best. Try getting a small committed team together to test the product and see if it is going to work how you need it to and if thats the case then you can expand to your whole team. Having a list of what you need in a product will help sift though all the products that are available so you can see what you are needing the most help in.

Checking if the product is going to be worth the time and money spent on it. If money isn’t going to be a factor in the product you purchase then looking at it in a way that is a time saver is the next step. If the product is going to save time and bring some convenience to the team then it is probably going to be a good product. Looking for a product that is going to take little time to set up and use is going to help more than a product that is going to take more time and cause more frustration to use. If the product is hard or time consuming then it is going to be hard to get the team to use it effectively.

Check for a product that offers a trial period first. You want to be able to try a product fully before you purchase it. This way you can see all the bugs and flaws and verify that it is a product you want to spend your time and effort on. Having the ability to free roam on the product and be able to test it out with your whole team will be helpful. Any product that is going to be worth the transition should offer a free trial of their product so you can test drive it before you buy it. Always make sure the trial period is long enough that any errors and issues with the product can be found and discussed with the team. If your team is on board then the product will be worth the time spent but if the team doesn’t use it then it won’t be worth the switch. Getting the feedback from the team will verify if the product is effective or not.

Make sure the product is easily integrated and explained on how it works. You want to be able to allow people the ability to easily navigate and understand the product so it will continue to be used effectively. Once the product is learned and successfully integrated then it is wise to explore other options every three months so you make sure you are using the best product that you can be for your team.
